| I was born and raised on a small ranch near Valentine Nebraska, (The Heart of the Sandhills.) I couldn't have asked for a better place to have grown up. I love the sandhills and the surrounding area. However, as fate will have it, after graduating form good ole' UN with a degree in Animal Science, traveling throughout the country, working, managing ranches, owning and losing a ranch, I ended up in Florida. I was always interested in art, and was always interested in how to create, so I guess it was natural that I ended up with art as my career. Although I have no formal art training, I do have 30+ years of trial and error experience. With my knowledge of the livestock industry and my education in livestock selection and anatomy to draw on, I strive to create images that accurately document the life and tradition of the ranching way of life, which, by the way, is not all that different in Florida as it is in any other part of the country where people make their living from the bovine. |
| My art is displayed in private collections in several states in the U. S. as well as several foreign countries. In 2000, I had the opportunity to work for Walt Disney Imagineering doing character facade in plaster. I worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Disney California Adventure , and Tokyo Disney Seas in Tokyo Japan. A great life and learning experience for an old country boy. I work primarily in oils and pencil, but also occassionally like to work in watercolors. I also have painted several murals in banks, restaurants, churches, and even a casino. This year, we leased the old Kenansville School Building on Canoe Creek Road for a studio, and have started giving art lessons there. The building was built in 1917. Work is being done to get it listed historically. Please feel free to give us a call and visit us there. |
